Hi List;

I had both radios and I did not experience any problems with either one of them.

Both ICOM and KENWOOD in my opinion always had good quality control.

  Bob,

  I was concerned about the reliability of the 746P AND the TS-2000 when I was
  researching them. I bought a TS2000 in February. The research I did found
  that BOTH have reliability issues. The 746 loses transmit ability and
  despite claims that it is fixed in newer models, I have seen reports that
  suggest the problem is still there. Kenwood has a similar problem but the
  symptoms is that transmit is lost on all but the 70cm band. I think it is
  less common than the 746P problem but I have seen about four posts hear in
  the past three months. Icom repairs theirs for free even when out of
  warranty, Kenwood reportedly does not (unless within Warranty).

  The 746P has the infamous backlit display problem, I have not seem anything
  similar reported for the Kenwood TS2000. The TS2000 has supposed
  sessitivity issues on 2M.
