Subject: butternut hf v6 antenna

Just finished listening to the handiham lectures for the general test.
I was particularly confused about antennas. I have a butternut hf v6
antenna and it is about 16 feet up on an antenna mast. There was
reference made to radials onantennas and I don't have any sort of thing.
I have about 5 feet between my house and an 8 foot wooden fence. I put
the antenna up so that it wouldn't be abstructed by these objects. I do
get reception on the different bands depending on the time of day and
conditions. There are times that I only hear one side of a
conversation. Will installing radials help this? Jus really unsure if
I need this or not.
