I used an Icom IC718 for quite a while, and liked the rig quite a bit.  You 
may need some sighted assistance in getting the rig initially set up to your 
liking, but once that is done, it is very blind friendly.

When you get the radio, let me know. ... I have a whole bunch of help files 
and other documentation I'd be happy to send you, including a review of the 
rig that I did for Handihams several years ago.
