I remember the Curtis keyboards, I actually have an old Heath Keyboard
keyer, (plugs directly into the rig), and had an InfoTech keyboard which
worked for a lot of contacts until it just quit one day. When I was very
young in hamming, (fifteen years old or so), having a CW keyboard was my
dream because could already copy very fast, so didn't want to worry about
mistakes in sending though I could use a keyer at up to about 35 wpm pretty
good. :) Those are the days and still wish I had the rig again and antennas
again to be on CW qrp or just on the air again. :)
I even remember paper tape and the machine which made it. Also, use to send
code practice sometimes using a keyer, was pretty accurate. I remember W 6 O
Z cw practice, and, of course, W 1 A W.

What is a begali simplex ? =20
I like my Chicago Spies works straight key. However a friend of mine
had a straight key with about a 9 to 12 inch long leaver but I never did
get to send much code with it as he had not hooked it up when I saw it.
He also had a original WU sounder set presented to him on his retirement
from WU. It was brass silver plated on a walnut plaque. =20

Yes, and this thing has lots of memory space and a 200 character
type-ahead buffer which is great for ragchewing. I can type much better
than I can work the iambic paddles. I swear, I'm going to pick up a
begali simplex mono one of these days. Lou
