Hi Richard;
You can really get away without the filters.
First of all, the filters have to be soldered in.
Could you believe it in this day an age?
When I had mine I didn't find I needed the filters.
My main complaint with the radio is that the audio output from the
transmitter does not have that Kenwood footprint.
Even with the software, I wasn't able to open the audio out to 3.0
As I said in an earlier post, I'm going to wait and see what Kenwood comes
out with next.
