I am saving my open reels to mp3 files. One tape seemed good, but when I
was done recording it, I found the entire transport was covered in a thin
layer of sticky gum. I was able to clean the heads and capstans with
rubbing alcohol. The question is, how do I clean the rubber pinch rollers?
I need a solvent that will not harm the rubber. Any ideas? By the way I
have done over 150 reels, and it all fits inside my computer. Amazing!
