the TMV71A sounds like it's very close to the TM/271A 2 meter radio, if so, 
you won't have that audio problem with that one. I've never had a complaint 
on either of my 271A's and I have heard 8 to 10 on the air, and I talk to 4 
or 5 of them regularly and they're very good. that's a very popular radio 
around here. There are probably more than that I talk to regularly that I 
don't evne know about.
