Hi Butch,
To get in to the menus, hit the function button and then press the tuning
knob. When you rotate the tuning knob, you will be changing the menu items.
To change an item, push the tuning knob again and then the tuning knob
changes the value of the menu item. Pushing the tuning knob one more time
returns you to the menu list and you exit the menu buy pushing the function
button.

Subject: tmv-71a question

Just wondering if someone who has one could tell me what keys to press to
get in and out of menus and how you change stuff when you're there. I
read the manual, and as usual translating a pdf to text is almost
owrthless.

I have a new ham here in town who is wanting to get one of these, and I
want to help him set it up. Also, does anyone know if the cable I have
for my tmv-7a will work to program the radio? The software is really
cool, by the way, you can import files from other radios, like my tmv-7.
