Jeff,

To get rid of an effect in a file you are working on, go to the undo command in the edit menu.  That is fairly standard across a lot of programs, control-z also works.

As for getting a preset back that you deleted, I don't know of any way to do that.  I don't think GW has a repir function, so maybe the only way would be to uninstall/reinstall it.
