I can hazzard a guess.  I believe that spirituality does not come 
from locking ourselves away.  All it does is make us more insular, 
and we develop a stale perspective on everything, including anything 
relating to OUR LORD. I believe that, most especially, the Christian 
needs to remain in touch in order to dialog and converse with others, 
and, ultimately witness to non-believers.

Everyone, feel free to correct my horendous spelling.  I know the 
words, I just can't spell them.
