Thyroid list:
I am new to the list and would like to communicate with those who have similar sympoms as I do so that I can see what alternatives exist.
Simple enough -- blood test come up with a TSH of 5.98; a repeat test a few days later got a 5.66.
I understand that the normal range used to be 0.4 to 6.0, but it has recently been reduced to 0.3 to 3.0. That gives me question. How high does the TSH get up to and is a 6 clear problem or is it iffy (perhaps indicator for more tests).
My doctor suggested some life-long treatment -- I said I wanted to take a wait and see. She lined me up for a retest in three months. That did not sound to me like she thought it was too serious.
I would like to try sometihing between now and then to see if I can get it down somewhat by natural means. I was taking half of the recommended vitamins and decided to start taking a couple per day -- that will give me 100% or the Iodine and double the amount of solenium, which I do not see can hurt.
Hope to hear from some of you.
Thanks -- dave
