Beginning in about 1967, the Hadley School offered a correspondence course
that would take you from no license through the General, including the 13
WPM code.

I began taking the course in the summer of 1968, and completed it shortly
before passing my Novice exam in 1969.

Between that course, and the old 5 volume magazine style Braille edition of
the Radio Amateur's License Manual from ARRL, I then passed the General in
1970.

Two years later, I used the newer License Manual to study for and pass the
Advanced just before entering college.

In 1980, I learned that Hadley still offered their Amateur Radio course, so
I enrolled for a refresher in order to begin studying for the Amateur Extra.
The First Class commercial ticket was also a goal this time, as it would
have meant an automatic income increase. That license went away, and a
combination of life events furnished enough roadblocks and excuses for that
project to be placed on hold until 1985. So, I never completed the second
Hadley course.

All that ramble to get around to asking if anyone else on this list took
either the first round of the Hadley course which was on 7 inch reels, or
the early 80s version which was on cassette?
