Hi, all.

As you may recall, one of my Kenwood TMV7A's bit the dust last week, when I 
was serving as net control for a week-long bicycle tour across the State of 
Michigan.  Basically, the finals went out on the rig, and need to be 
replaced.

My immediate solution to the problem is to order a new Kenwood TMV71A, which 
should be arriving within the next week or so.

However, in the long term, I'd like to get the old TMV7A repaired and the 
finals replaced if for no other reason than to have an available back-up 
rig.

I know this will generate a lot of discussion and differing opinions, but 
what is the best place to send the TMV7A for repairs like I'm suggesting?

I live in west-central lower Michigan.

And, in general, what do you think I might be looking at in cost for 
replacement of the TMV7A finals?

I know the finals are gone because I get a very scratchy signal report on 
our local repeater with a good antenna, no matter what power level I use. 
Seems the radio is putting out only a couple of watts.
