i have the Icom 2008a. They are FRS radios, but have many of the same 
features as ham or GMRS handhelds, including the ability to encode 
and decode CTCSS tones. They give good audible feedback for the 
controls.  I have had them for a while, so do not recall the 
price.  I got them from C. Crane Company, 1 800 522-8863.
