Thank you to all who responded to my question on gene testing.
Quite a few mentioned Entrolab. I looked them up on their website and the cost is $149.00. One simply scrapes the inside of your cheek and they will analyzes it. I used them for the celiac test before where you send in a sample of your poop.
Many suggested Prometheus Lab located in San Diego, CA. I tried to call them but couldn't get thru. I have a feeling they are expensive. They do a blood test.
Also Kimball Genetics was suggested. I did get thru to them and it was very expensive $395.00. They send a package and you send back a sample from your mouth.
One person said if you have no gene for celliac, you never have to worry about it again.
The gene that most celiacs have is DQ2.
I plan on taking our son for his 12 year old check up and then the doctor can do a sample (like they do at Entrolab. ) Hopefully, our insurance will pick up the tab. If not, we will order it directly from Entrolab.
I will summarize again. Luke's appointment isn't until April 2nd. Again, thanks for all the suggestions. I received many.
Ann
