I stand corrected on the time frame.  We don't know when the star was 
first seen.  Around the time of Jesus' birth, the wise men were in 
Jerusalem.  I don't know how far Jerusalem is from Bethlehem, but by 
the time the wise men got there, Jesus was no longer a baby, but a 
young child and he was in a house.
