That board could cope just fine, or it may need some help. You might
check with MSI's website for errata and BIOS updates that could improve
the performance of the board before you try a CPU that the original
documentation won't confirm the workability of. That the CPU uses the
same front-side bus clock rate sounds promising. Good luck. :)

I have an MSI MS-6533 MB with an Intel P4 478 pin socket. The specs say
the fastest CPU it will handle is a P4 2.6 GHz. Will the board handle a
faster CPU, say 3.2 GHz? My concern is the specs reflect the CPU's
available when to board was made. The specs on the P4 CPU's available
now are Intel Pentium 4 2.6 to 3.2 GHz but all have 800MHz. I think the
CPU on board now is an 800 MHz
