Hello, all. I'm experiencing a weird problem and am hoping that someone on
this list might have some advice.
A few months ago, I got a new computer built, and on the whole, it's
working like a dream, and is even more of a joy to use than I had initially
anticipated. The only problem I'm having is with the media center portion
of windows. I have a Vistaview Sabre 2020 TV tuner card, and so far as I
know, all of it's software is installed; windows is recognizing the card
with no problem.
The problem is this: When I go into the media center application and try to
select my tv or anything else, it just closes the media center applet. I'm
wondering if anyone could provide advice on what I might be doing wrong. I
have reason to suspect that windows was never installed correctly on this
system; even though it has all of the most recent security updates, it's
still claming to be windows XP Media Center edition 2002. I know that I
purchased version 2005, so am wondering if I'll have to try to get windows
reinstalled in order to get the TV card to work properly. Any advice would
be extremely appreciated.
Missy
