Cop Gets Certificate Of Bravery, But Really Wants A Job
April 10, 2006
CAŅON CITY, COLORADO--The following four paragraphs are excerpts from a story in Sunday's Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald:
Roger Parsons has a framed certificate telling him he's a brave man.
The Caņon City Police Department gave it to him "for modeling courage and perseverance in the face of adversity" after an off-duty crash last year left the 12-year veteran paralyzed from the waist down.
A week later, the department fired him.
Parsons, 43, has been asking for a job since then -- any job he can do.

An unreasonable man (but my wife says that's redundant!)
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
