Thanks for all the responses my ruminations last week on how we all came to
preservation. You might recall, I was trying to understand what motivated
preservation efforts in the US over the course of our history, and
particularly what motivates individuals. It sounds like a lot of us have
threads that go back a long way. Thanks for all the input.
