your right about the better audio from the ICT90.
Since it is a handheld, low power with a small inefficient antenna, the
signal from an HT is often less then strong or clear into a repeater, and
with the THF6A, with its stock extremely low TX audio, they're very hard to
hear in noisy conditions.  the ict90 is loud and crisp in comparison...not
sure about receive audio though.
The ICT90 tends to be very lacking in low mid and low end receive audio and
thus is a bit difficult to hear in noisy vehicle environments such as on the
freeway or on the street corner...the white/grey noise from cars going by
sort of blanks out the high pitched white sounding receive from the internal
speaker.
I know there is a fix for the audio on the thf6a's, which involves getting
into the service menu through a button located on the inside of the radio
under the keypad or something...
