Are they simply on the coax or how were they laced onto the connection?

Hi Brett,
The Ferrite cores are used to keep the output signal from coming back
through the shield part of your coax. My G5RV had 7 of them on the coax
at the point of where it intersects the twin lead. Merry Christmas
