Matt,
    Have you done maintenance lately?  Disk Cleanup etc?  And within Outlook 
Express?  As part of my routine, I first do OE.  I empty the Deleted Items 
folder then compact the folders (this is like defragging).  Then I run Disk 
Cleanup, then run Defrag.  Matter of fact, I just got done doing this.
