Thanks John. I may not get all six but will take a look. Others will
be using FRS and I can always monitor with the vx5 as I have these
channels already programmed for rx only. I have seen Kenwood in the
past but haven't looked recently at Wall Mart. Now to find locally some
14 gauge stranded copper. Lowes is one option however.

I have a few unidens in my gokit, as a just in case, not sure on the
model, but they're the next to cheapest and they're fine. a little
learning and guess work involved but pretty much I found a channel and
tone pair and it's not channel 1, and have never had to change it for
any reason.
