     This may not be so beautiful but if you could add some lengths of wire 
to your rabbit ears I am betting you would see a big improvement. I used to 
rap a length of wire around a set of shelves. Just use the formula 234 
divided by the frequency in MHz to find a good length. On the other hand you 
may want to go with something less than 234 feet which is what the formula 
would recommend for one MHz. But if you have the wire that would be a great 
antenna.
