Thanks to all for the suggestions.  They are all helpful.  Steve, a
snake is a larger bundle of cables typically 8 or more that make one
central run from one location to another allowing for multiple hookups
for microphones speakers and other devices.  These are typically used in
larger instillations where flexibility is desired for multiple input and
output.  I have used them when installing house wide systems in the past
especially those with long runs to remote speakers and distant
amplifiers.  

Again thanks for the suggestions folks and I think I am off and
connecting.
