  A few weeks ago I had asked about scanners that could be controlled by the 
  pc.  Russ on this list refered me to  this link  where there is an mp3 
  review of the 396t.  I did find it very interesting.

  BTW, my pockets aren't as deep as yours, so I wound up buying the BCT 15 
  which is a base/mobile and has no digital.  Also got the control software 
  from Butel referred to   in the  review mentioned above.   Due to some 
  health problems with my elderly mother, I haven't had the time to play 
  around too much with it, but I do enjoy it  so far.
