Revelation 16:17-21
17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a
great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is
done.
18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightning's; and there was a
great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty
an earthquake, and so great.
19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the
nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto
her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about
the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the
hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
We have had some hail off and on during the this month of May here in
Denver. One time it hailed for 30 minutes and with stones about the size of
nickels. I've seen them as large as golf balls here and they sounded like
someone throwing them against the house and on to the roof. I preached in a
small town in eastern Colorado many years ago. The church was in a town
called Elacott which is about 27 miles east of Colorado Springs. the
Springs, where many mega ministries are located, is 65 miles south of
Denver. So this gives you an idea of where this town was. The little
church ran 60 to 65 people and most of the members were farmers and ranchers
and some drove long distances to get to church on Sundays. the town had a
population of 35 people so the church grew the town larger on Sundays. A
friend of mine was the pastor. sandy and I went out to eat almost every
night, sometimes even at noon, to member's homes for meals. One family we
ate with told us about the small thunderstorm they had the previous summer.
the husband told me that anything outdoors was destroyed by hail stones the
size of grape fruit and even larger. In fact, he said, he went out into his
back yard the next day, and in the shade found a hail stone the size of a
grape fruit and brought it in and put it into his freezer to show people
just how large they must have been in the storm. A few weeks ago, when the
nickel sized stones were falling, I put my hand out my office door. It
really hurt when they struck my hand. On the front range of Colorado, or
what we call the eastern slope, storms, even violent storms, often are small
in size. Storms passing over Denver, for example, may be only be a half a
dozen blocks wide, even smaller, but as they drift out over the planes, they
enlarge and strengthen. By the time they reach the Kansas and Colorado
state line, they can be massive and very powerful. Cold air coming down
from Canada, and warm air coming up from the gulf, collide. Warm air, of
course, rises, and cold air, especially in this case, is trapped closer to
the ground. When such air masses crash into each other, often violent
storms are created. circular spinning motions are spawned and this creates
perfect conditions for powerful storms and tornados. When the heavier mass
generates moisture, it falls in the form of rain. the storms can tower into
the sky to the level of literally tens of thousands of feet. Commercial
airliners have to fly around these storms so summer time conditions make on
time flights nearly impossible during stormy days. Due to the altitude of
huge thunderstorms, the rain generated by the mixture of hot and cold air
falls sometimes for literally miles before it touches the earth. Since the
cooler air is trapped beneath the warmer gulf air, the water chills and ice
crystals are formed. The farther it has to fall, the more moisture is
caught and collected by the rain drops and sticks to what is becoming hail.
the thicker, or the higher and taller, the thunderstorm cells become, the
farther the rain drops have to fall and thus the larger the hail stones can
become as they continually collect moisture and crystallize as they fall.
Today, when it hailed a little as a thunderstorm drifted off the mountains
and across Denver, I was thinking about the hail stones in the book of
Revelation. So, I looked it up. A talent, mentioned in the King James, is
100 pounds in silver or 45 KG, and in gold, a talent was 200 pounds or 91 KG
in metric. Can you possibly imagine hail stones 100 to 200 pounds falling
from thousands of feet. What could possibly stand under that type of
barrage. There have been reports for decades about underground tunnels
constructed hundreds and thousands of feet below the surface here in the
United States. Israel also has underground facilities in case of a nuclear
attack. They literally can launch aircraft from underground so they can
strike back even if everything above ground is destroyed by an enemy nuclear
detonation. I have listen to a man describe in detail an underground atomic
powered tunneling robot that will continuously tunnel for miles that is
being used in the United States. For what? Where people can lives. No,
not us, just the elite. You know, those running the planet at the time.
Could this be the caves people are hiding in and cursing god for the
punishment the earth, and its inhabitance, are receiving at that time of the
Tribulation? Possibly. If you go back and read the passage in Revelation I
just quoted, you will notice it mentions lightning, too. If the hail stones
are running 100 to 200 pounds, what must the lightning be like. The
accompanying earthquake is the greatest since the beginning of time. So
massive, no islands in all the oceans remain above water. Read the
following passages in Isaiah which reference the same event.
All of Isaiah Chapter 2 which I won't quote here.
Isaiah 13:13 says,
Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her
place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce
anger.
Isaiah 24:1 says,
1 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth
it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.
Isaiah 24:18-21
18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear
shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit
shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the
foundations of the earth do shake.
19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the
earth is moved exceedingly.
20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed
like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it
shall fall, and not rise again.
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the
host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the
earth.
Did you know that some scientists are predicting the earth will switch,
literally switch, magnetic poles? That is, the north pole and the south
poles will reverse? they say we are, in space, approaching a gaseous cloud
and this will have cataclysmic effects upon the earth which could possibly
switch earth magnetic poles. I wonder where they got that idea? Did you
also know that the Tsunami we had, that was the net result of a 9.2
earthquake on the sea floor, has caused the earth to shift one inch off its
rotational spin. Let's increase that to a foot instead of an inch. Do you
think Isaiah's prophecy of the earth wobbling back and forth as if it were a
drunken man staggering down the street after boozing it up at the bar half
the night might be true? If the poles reverse, as is suggested in these
Isaiah passages, and if the earth shifts in its rotational spin, I wonder
what happens to the earth's gravity? Did you know the earth's gravity,
magnetism is measured in a unit called a gauss, which when pronounced is
spoken as gouse, which is a measurement similar to voltage, or electrical
power when we measure it and call it a watt, is steadily decreasing and has
since Adam and Eve lived upon the earth? It is estimated that the magnet
field was, during Adam's day, was around 80 gauss. Now, the highest point
on the earth is only about 6.2 gauss. In most places, it is less than 4 and
in some places, even lower. Many suggest the magnetic field in Adam's day
is what kept them in perfect health because disease and viruses and germs
cannot exist in a high natural occurring magnetic field. Cancer cells, for
example, die, literally die, in a natural magnetic field. Regardless, I ask
again. What will happen to the planet when the gravity shifts poles and the
spin of the earth is off center so the earth wobbles like a slowing spinning
top. I wonder what is happen to the earth cosmologically when the night and
the day are cut by one third the time? This is one place I am glad I won't
be when God speaks His judgment. If His Words that were spoken creates a
limitless universe, what, pray tell, is going to happen to this planet, and
the people left behind, when He speaks judgment upon the earth?
