In one of the state buildings in Montpelier there used to be marble stairs
inside the building, also the stall dividers in the bathroom were marble.
I think they did a remodel a few years ago and removed all the lovely
marble but I'm not sure. It was the building where the motor vehicle dept.
is and now they have branch offices around the state so we don't have to go
to Montpelier anymore to do business with them. Ruth

Was just in Penn Station in NYC, and it struck me that the 6" x 6" granite
tiles they have in their stair treads and some floors are probably be
relatively cheap AND durable and schmutz-resistant.
