I wanted to know that too a few weeks back when I thought possibly 
McCain would have a stroke before the weekend was out. First the 
Republicans would be in turmoil. Not much time left to juggle the 
players around. Then the logical outcome would be to drop back to the 
runner up in the primary, in this case I believe Romney. There will be a 
desperation to not let the party melt down. Palin, it is my feeling 
would be dropped out on her own, though she may or may not go back to 
Alaska. I think it is too late to delay the election in order for the 
Republicans to take a break to reconfigure their path. If it were Obama 
that went out it would likely be Hilary brought up by the Dems. At least 
Obama has kept the Clintons close whereas we hear pretty much nothing of 
Romney with McCain these days.
