I have rosacea also. Mine isn't bad, but I have a prescription for
Metronidazole Topical Cream 0.75%. It's really an antibiotic used for
inflammation. I use it daily on my nose. I also use Visene on
breakouts. It's gets the red out! (doctors didn't tell me to do this,
I learned it from a tip on the internet)
---
Mine went away after I went GF. I also remember that black pepper
would make my face go red & it also gave me pains in my fingers...I
was gluten light for 10 years, thinking allergies, So by the time I
went GF 3 years ago it cleared up like magic. I have a friend that is
supposed to be gluten free but she keeps going off it so she still has
active rosacea.

I've noticed customer reviews from rosacea-sufferers of a product line sold
on www.HSN.com who say their problem cleared. The product line is Elysee
Luminacae and Elysee Bioaccel. HSN frequently is out of this product line,
so you could order direct from Elysee but will pay triple the price. Other
products also included in this line, and sometimes available on HSN, are
Luminacae Body Butter, and Luminacae Facial Cleanser.
I use most of the Elysee line with excellent anti-aging results (I'm 57 and
people think I'm in my late 30s). Elysee's anniversary on HSN is in April
and have GREAT values in kits and two-fers at that time.

My sister-in-law uses Johnson baby wash on hers

Low dose antibiotic until the pimples go away and one of the creams.
I can't recall the one I use (everyday) but I think there are more
newer ones on the market. I resisted the antibiotic but it was really
the one thing that got it under control.

Several years ago when I was treated successfully for rosacea, I took
a low dose antibiotic for several months and applied Metrogel
topically. I continued the Metrogel for a long time, but don't have
to use any now.
---
I have rosacea and CD, and I use an Azelaic Acid Topical called
Finacea. It's worked very well for me and as long as I use a little
dab daily, it keeps flare-ups under control. I too have this problem
and I was told by my GP and derm. that rosacea can be aggravated by
heat. THey told me to avoid hot steamy foods (so I let my food cool a
bit before sticking my face over the plate), also hot water, showers,
etc. So I turn the faucet to cool to wash my face (even in the
shower). Also, the doc suggested using a mild soap like dove to wash
my
face.
