What is your current setup? How many files are involved and why are you
dong this? Is there a new PC involved? Do you have an eternal drive? It
might be easiest to do this with a network if there's a router involved.
There's a number of tips here, but if you tell us more we can narrow it
down.

Subject: [PCBUILD] laptop to desktop

Hi, for purposes of backing up/ transferring files , could you link a
laptop to a desktop via a usb cable? Would it just be "new hardware
detected" or do you have to do something with commands or such? Would
it be ok if one was Vista and one was XP? I guess I'm viewing the
laptop as an external drive. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
