There are a few of us on this list who know what an HW12 is.

For the newcomers, it was a single band ssb only transceiver for 80 meters
that was made by Heath throughout most of the 60s and perhaps into the early
70s.

Heath also made the HW22 for 40 meters, and the HW32 for 20.

I had one as a backup rig in the late 70s, but sold it.

After acquiring another HW12A from the estate of my Elmer about 2 years ago,
I thought it would be fun to own all three.

Thanks to a lucky day on Ebay, and to a friend who had too many of them, I
have entered the "You have all three of them, so what," phase of the
collection.

My friend and I have a little work to do on the 40 and 20 meter units, but
the 75 meter one works great.

You know you've been around a very long time when you fire up one of these
boxes and start a pile-up of people whose first question is: "What on earth
is that?"
