A ham radio cant tell you your exact location or how to find say a pub go
for the trekker G has on they are good.

    I've wanted a Trekker for a while and now that I am getting into amateur

radio, what kind of capability could a ham radio offer?  Or would a Trekker 
still be the desired hardware to have for GPS?
