Kathy,

 It varies a lot from state to state.  If I remember correctly, you're in
Wisconsin, so you'll probably want to contact the local housing authority,
or if there is a state housing agency, contact them.  If you'd like some
help tracking down contact info, drop me an email off list, and remind me
where you are.  There are a couple of types of rent assistance available,
one being called Section 8, and others that may be specific to individual
states.  Accessible rental housing is sometimes difficult to come by; I've
known people wo had to go to other communities to find wheelchair accessible
housing.  Again, let me know how I can help.
