Another thought.  I have heard people who don't go to church at all say "God 
is everywhere.  I can worship him just as easily at home because he is 
everywhere.  So why should I go to church at all." I think this is because 
they have fallen out with their church and rather than either going to that 
church and worshiping God there, or taking time to iron out the difficulties 
found there, or going to another more compatible church altogether they use 
God's omnipresence as an excuse not to go at all.  Dressing down may be a 
few steps above that, and may well lead to that kind of thinking.
