OnShare License: Freeware http://www.onshare.com/en_gb/findoutmore/
OnShare is a free way to share files and chat with your friends in complete
privacy. It's a simple download that directly networks computers together.
You control exactly what your friends can see and get their hands on.
OnShare is built exclusively for you and your friends. You only share files
with people you invite so you know they're from a trusted source. The files
you share stay exactly where they are on your computer. OnShare's pioneering
technology lets you reach into your friends' computers, grab whatever you
want and use it just as if it were on your own computer. And, if you have
more than one computer, you can easily share between them wherever they are
in the world. OnShare's file sharing and messaging is encrypted at 2048 bit,
so secure that no one can intercept your chats and files. The security model
was conceived and developed by ex-military scientists. With OnShare, your
friends appear as drives on your computer, meaning you can access their
shared files directly from within Windows. View, drag, drop, copy and paste
just like you're used to. Sharing everything from embarrassing photos to
important documents is simpler, faster and more secure than ever.

Using OnShare Chat
How do I ignore someone who wants to chat and I don’t?
There is currently no way to block users from sending you messages. However,
you don’t have to respond. You could try setting your online Status to ‘Not
available’ if you don’t want to be disturbed.
Do not set it to Offline though, as this will stop you from being able to
chat to other friends.
If I’m chatting with a friend, can someone on my friend’s list but not mine,
join in?
Yes – but only if your friend invites them to join in your chat session.
Otherwise, if their friend invites your friend to chat, it opens up a
different chat room from the one you’re in.
But what if their friend invites them to chat while they’re chatting with
me?
That person can join the chat session. If you’re not comfortable with this
for any reason, you can leave the chat session.
If I want to chat privately with just one friend. Can I stop my other
friends from joining in?
You don’t need to. No one can see that you’re chatting, and no one can join
in unless either you or your friend invites them. If they invite you or your
friend to chat, it opens up a different chat room from the one you’re
already in.
Connect OnShare to your Proxy Server
If you connect to the Internet via a proxy server, you need to tell OnShare
the server’s IP address. You can do this from within OnShare (if you can get
a connection), or from the system tray (if you can’t).
From the system tray:
Launch OnShare.
Right click on the OnShare icon in the system tray and select Settings.
Click the Network tab.
Tick the I use a proxy server box.
Enter the proxy server’s IP address.
In the Port field, enter the port number your machine uses to connect to it.

If your proxy server requires you to login, tick the login box, then enter
your login details in the relevant fields.
Click OK to save the new settings.
If you were having difficulties logging into OnShare, you should now be able
to do so.
From within OnShare:
Log into OnShare.
Expand My OnShare and either click your profile name, or click Options.
Click the Network tab.
Tick the I use a proxy server box and enter the IP address and port number,
as described above.
Click OK to save the new settings.
