On most radios, it beeps when it finds that tone, I don't see why that would 
be any different and it stays there for a while, I don't know about for 
ever, you might have to reach over and push the button to make sure it 
stopped scanning, that's what I do, but it will beep and I think I heard 
somewhere it holds for about 8 seconds or something.
