Hi;
First of all I have zero experience with the ic 706 but I wonder how many of 
the functions can be controlled via ham radio deluxe?  Unlike kenwood, if 
icom makes software for a radio they generally charge for it rather than 
making it a free download.  Ham radio deluxe might be worth looking into.
