Hello everyone.  Yesterday, I downloaded both the VLC video player from:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

and the Audacity digital recording program from:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/


they are both supposed to be open source multi platform programs and are 
available free.  Does anyone know anything about either of them?

Although I haven't worked with Audacity yet, I do have that presentation on 
it from the 2005 technology conference  that it was given at.  But I haven't 
had any success with VLC.  It doesn't seem to work well with Jaws.
