Hi
My delete finger is tiring out so you all get stuck with my two cents worth.
I suspect (and its just my own opinion) that a significant number of jfw
users primarily use the program to check there e-mail, browse the net and
write an occasional letter in word. It sometimes becomes overkill. Now if
your job really needs you to work with spread sheets and you are using
tables in word that may be another issue.
As for updates, it has long gotten old to get update after update which do
lots of far out things that don't really change my life.
As for Tom's comments, I work(6 days until retirement) for an agency that
hires a significant number of blind people nationally and there is no choice
its jfw or nothing. The flip side is, however, the program is generally
used as it comes out of the package. The average sighted i t person who may
install the software because the have administrator privileges has no idea
what a script is and if they knew they would immediately demand a pay
increase.
I also found it novel that after the powers that be approved 7.0 for
employee use it was discovered that 7.0 wouldn't work for a number of our
applications so people went dashing back to 6.0 or 6.1
I suspect the name "job" access with speech has not done jaws any harm when
dealing with rehab folks.
Rich
