Yeah, I have my old Olympia portable and also a Smith Corona pportable electric 
that I don't use.

A search on Froogle yielded quite a few typewriters; many portable vintage ones 
that are claimed to work well.

I still use mine to address envelopes or print a check, instead of using 
checkwriting software on the PC.

Don't worry about what people think; they don't do it very often.
