Greetings,

Trying to solve a problem with a friend's computer. She has an old Sony PCV - E302DS minitower (circa 1997), 350 Mhz, 256 PC100 RAM,Phoenix BIOS ver.6.0.2W. She has lost the Sony restore disc so I've been trying to fix her computer (or part of the problem by reinstalling WIN ME Ver 4.90.3000. The persistant message on startup is a Sony splash screen with the message at the bottom that says:
ERROR Resouce conflict - PCI on Motherboard. Bus:00, Device 0D, Function: 00.

I tried replacing her old RAM with some newer memory I had on hand, but that did nothing. I made sure that all the PCI cards were seated well and that did nothing. Tried reinstalling Windows about ten times and it always froze up around 64%. She's a poor graduate student and can't really afford to invest in another computer right now. Can anybody help?

Thanks,
Allen
