Hi Anthony.
It depends upon the radio. I would put my old Kenwood TR751A up against
anything Icom ever built for 2 meters. And, my Kenwood Ts790A is pretty
sensitive. But, if you are talking about the TS2000S, I would agree that
I've had more sensitive radios. And, it does seem like many of the Icom
radios do better on the HF bands than does the Kenwood radios, but I don't
think that is true of the 706. The TS2000S definitely outperforms the 706
all the way around. But, if we were talking about my old Icom IC735, well
that is a whole other story. None of the Kenwood stuff that I have had
would touch that radio, either for sensitivity, noise figures, or dynamic
range. The '735 would kick the '2000's butt!
