Hi

Well that's your problem and prejudice.  I frequently used my VX7 and
now my VX6 I also used a 817 with a PC.  I agree that they could be more
accessible but they are not.  It doesn't mean that it is a bad radio.
Everyone likes the warm sound of Yaesu radios and I like the feel and
design.  To each of his own.

If it's like the VX1R with only like 6 buttons and a dial on the hole
thing, 
you won't get very far with it. Programming with the software and not
able 
to change anything yourself. Personally, I'd stay away from yaesu at all

cost, and I do.
