It's kind of a lower end stereo open reel deck, made to connect into a 
sound system, although decent amplified computer speakers make a good 
substitute for a stereo amplifier if you are trying to use it as a stand 
alone unit.  I was using it to tape incoming NTS traffic in the ham station 
(I now handle that via computer).

It uses a rotary control to switch through the various tape transport 
functions.

It isn't fancy, but it is working.
