Well you aren't going to get DC to make a sound, that is except of 
maybe snap crackle or pop.  You need the voltage to power an 
oscellator, then you can put the switch between the power source and 
the oscellator.
Unless you are trying to create a smoke generator.
If so, do as you discribed.
