Richard,

The cheapest solution for the blind is the Trekker. YOu can get it cheaper than
the pacmate or VoiceNote even though the GPS navigation dosts additional for
those devices.

Subject: gps

Hi everyone;
I have been away from the computer and missed most of the blind friendly gps
info. Am I correct that after you spend a fortune for the gps you then need
some type of p d a to read the output? I believe it can be bundled with
packmate but it just isn't worth the price. I liked the idea of using a
cell phone with speech. Sounds like a much more practical approach. I was
really taken back when a friend mentioned that nonfriendly units with just a
display screen are very inexpensive.
Thought most blind people were supposed to be unemployed and poverty
strickened?
Richard
