This is not a high fat diet. High fat is 70-80% of calories. This is moderate fat, high either carb- or glucose-producing-excess-protein diet. Putting aside the still very controversial issue of saturated-fat-caused insulin resistance, because the diet these rats consumed would still be high in glucose, it's not a surprise that there was a degree of insulin resistance found.
