You can feel the wire used to make the coil because it's wrapped around the
outside of the fiberglass. The coil is the part of the wrapped wire where
it's tightly wrapped. With some practice you can tell the different bands
by feeling the length of the coil, well at least you can tell a 40 meter
from a 20 meter. The coil is nearer the top.

Subject: ham stick coils

Hi

According to the instructions with the ham stick a person must be sure that

the stinger does not get pushed so far in to the antenna that it goes in
side the coil. My question is, where is the coil? I can't find any thing
the
remotely looks like a coil. Any ideas?
God bless,
Mark
